A story about a time you were very afraid.
Happy Friday! This week marked the first full week of football. It is like heaven for Alex. Seriously, it has been the best week he has had since the Superbowl in February.
I wanted to keep to the normal Friday 4 Things post so you will not be getting one story, but 4 stories about a time that I was afraid.
1. One time in high school I was out with my best bud Layton, and my two other friends Preston and Nate. We were just pulling out of the Walmart parking lot when we caught the attention of another car. All in good fun, that car started chasing us down Danish Road with Preston flying around all the corners. It was all fun and games until suddenly he lost control, the air bags went off and Preston was trying to gain control of his car. He finally came to a stop after hitting a fence. Luckily none of us were hurt. But I do remember grabbing onto the door handle and Layton's arm REALLY tight as it was happening. It was my first car accident so I was definitely scared. It even took me a while to totally get used to driving again. Now whenever I hear "baby when the lights go out" or see a toy light saber, I think about that night.
2. I mentioned this in the about me post, but I don't like those scary chainsaw guys at the end of every haunted house or corn maze. They terrify me. I get so scared {even though I know it is fake} that I just freeze and cover my face. The last time I went to a corn maze, my rude husband just let me stand there, scared out of my mind, crying. It took Gabe to say "grab her" before anyone noticed. Yeah, its pathetic but they scare me.
3. One morning I was sitting at my desk at work and opening the mail. I recieved a text message "babe I just got in a car accident", then NOTHING. It got my heart racing. Turns out Alex was ok, just involved in a minor fender bender. Now he knows that he should never say that, and then not follow up.
4. Another thing that I am afraid of are big dogs. When I was younger, I was rollerblading and a dog barked and it made me fall and break my arm. So I had a fear of dogs for a while. Until we got one for Christmas and I slowly came around to the idea {now I like little dogs}. But big dogs still scare me. One time in high school, I was at a friends house and a big dog jumped up on me and knocked me over. Everyone laughed at me while it was happening. But I was secretly dying inside. The dog finally moved on to playing with someone else. But I made sure to stay away the rest of the night.
So there are 4 things that made me afraid. What makes you afraid?
