Four Things

Today is my last day with Zions.  It is actually pretty sad - since it is kind of like a family business {Alex works there, my uncle Mike works there, my BIL has worked there previously}.  I really and truly had great things to say about working there. I would recommend it to anyone!

But it is time for me to move on.  But not after I highlight 4 things that Zions taught me.

  1. A great boss makes everything SO much better - I started out with Zions being an administrative assistant to Nick.  And I have nothing but wonderful things to say about that guy.  He genuinely wanted us to succeed and he had a solid relationship with all of his employees.  I have a pretty high standard for all my future bosses because of him.  Nick gave me my first real job and I can't thank him enough for the impact he made on my life.

  2. Everyone wears the same shirt of Fridays - The bank has what they like to call Zions Pride Day.  Where you can wear a shirt that has the Zions logo {and men don't have to wear a tie, women can dress down in slacks}.  The best part about this is that they don't have very many options so almost everyone is wearing the same blue Zions shirt.  You will never have to wonder if it is Zions Pride Day or not.

  3. Helping out the community can be pretty fun - Every year Zions has a paint-a-thon in which bank employees go out and paint homes of those in need.  It was a fun experience to gather with my department in a non work setting and give back to the community.  {Plus we got a pretty sweet yellow shirt}.

  4. Treat day is always going to include Banbury Cross Donuts - Why? Because they are the best around.  And they are everyone's favorite donut so they come for birthdays, Christmas parties, treat days, last day celebrations, or just your average Tuesday.  You can usually expect them to be there.
Peace out Zions! Thanks for a pretty great year and a half!
